In September 2014, Prof. Moore departed the EPFL after almost six productive and memorable years at the School of Life Sciences (Brain Mind Institute), and moved to the newly created Center for Neurodegenerative Science at the Van Andel Institute (Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA), where he has been appointed as an Associate Professor. His new laboratory continues to focus on the molecular basis of familial Parkinson’s disease.
Laboratory of Molecular Neurodegenerative Research (LMNR)
We are interested in understanding the cell biology of recessive and dominant gene products associated with Parkinson's disease and how they contribute to disease pathogenesis.
Please take a few moments to look around our site.
Models of familial Parkinson’s disease: LRRK2. (A) 2D phospho-proteome profiling of brain tissue from control (NTG) and G2019S mutant LRRK2 transgenic mice (TG). (B) Degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra (SNpc) of LRRK2 transgenic mice. (C) Accumulation of autophagosomes in the cerebral cortex of G2019S mutant LRRK2 mice. (D) Expression of human LRRK2 in primary midbrain dopaminergic neurons (TH) using recombinant human adenovirus (rAd). Lower panel: modular protein architecture and familial mutations of LRRK2.
